ANXIETY

      Anxiety is your body's natural response to stress. It's a feeling of fear or apprehension about what to come . Going to an interview, the first day in school , taking a test or an examination or problems at work may cause people to feel anxious , nervous or fearful.
   Anxiety is okay but anxiety disorder is different.
                     ANXIETY DISORDER
When the feeling of anxiety are extreme, last longer than six(6) months , and are interfering with your life is called Anxiety Disorder... It can be treated with medication, physchotherapy , or combination of the two .

              ANXIETY AND ALCOHOL
 When feeling anxious, you may decide you'd like a drink to calm your nerves, After all , alcohol is a sedative. It can depress the activity of your central nervous system, which may help you feel more relaxed. Drinking alcohol may feel like that's the answer you need to calm or let down your guard. Ultimately , that's not the best solution.
     Some people with anxiety disorders end up abusing alcohol or other drugs in an effort to feel better , regularly this can create a dependency and addiction.

            TYPES OF ANXIETY DISORDER
1. Pain Disorder: sudden intense fear that brings on a panic attack. During a panic attack, you may break out in a sweat , have chest pain and a pounding heart( palpitations). Sometimes you may feel like you're choking or having a heart attack.

2. Social Anxiety Disorder (Social phobia): when you feel overwhelming worry and self conciouness about everyday social situations.

3. Agoraphobia: feeling of intensity ; fear of a specific substance or object eg height, flying or climbing.

4. Separation Anxiety: separation anxiety disorder does not only occur or happen to little Kids who feel anxious or scared when a loved one leaves..

5. Selective Mutism: A type of social anxiety in which young kids/ teens don't speak in public (eg school) but talk normally at home with their family.

6. Medication- Induced Anxiety Disorder: those who do self medication or drug addict, when the withdraw from certain drugs, they trigger ( some symtoms of anxiety disorder).

      SYMTOMS OF ANXIETY 
- Nervousness
- Shyness
- Avoidance
- Dizziness
- shortness of breath
- Dry mouth
- Inability to concentrate
- Rumination
- Sleep problem
- Tense muscle 


   Anxiety in teens may lead to unusual behavior , they may act out , perform poorly in school,skip social events, and engage in substance or alcohol use.

     MANAGING ANXIETY DISORDER SYMTOMS

- Eat right and exercise .
- Get better sleep.
- Keep a journal.
- Get together with friends.
- Learn to relax.
- Don't use Alcohol and recreational street drugs.
- Cut down foods and drink that have caffeine.
- Food can help treat anxiety :
          - Salmon
          - yogurt
          - green tea
          - dark chocolate
          - tumeric
          - chamomile
- Medication and talk therapy are commonly used to treat anxiety, medication like:
                  -Beta - blockers
                  - Bupropion
                  - Anticonvulsants
                  - Antipsychotics
                  - Buspar
- Lifestyle changes: enough sleep, regular exercise can also help.
